Accepted domains tell Exchange Online which SMTP domains belong to the organization and how recipients for those domains should be treated.
Document every accepted domain and its intended routing model.
An authoritative domain expects valid recipients to exist in the organization. Other routing models can be used when recipients also exist elsewhere.
Misclassification can cause unexpected rejects or routing loops.
