When recipients repeatedly mark a sender’s mail as spam, that is a strong signal that something is wrong with the stream.
The cause might be poor acquisition, confusing branding, excessive frequency, a broken unsubscribe process, stale lists or outright unsolicited mail.
Investigate the source
Break complaints down by campaign, acquisition source, sending domain, list and time period where your provider exposes that data.
Do not hide the symptom by moving to a fresh domain. Fix the reason recipients do not want the mail.
Google currently tells senders to keep spam rates reported in Postmaster Tools below its published threshold and recommends staying lower still. Provider thresholds can change, so use the current provider documentation rather than hard-coding a permanent target into your program.
